Cupboards and work surfaces are gradually appearing in our new kitchen. It is going to be a good kitchen for a while and contains much more space and storage than the one we have had for the last 8 1/2 years. The old kitchen is starting to look like a tool store with a sink. I'm looking forwards to the sink migrating to the new kitchen too, but that wont happen until the radiator is in and the under floor insulation has been done.
We do have exciting afternoons and evenings round here. After squishing most of the furniture in the new kitchen to one side we were able to insulate under the part of the kitchen where the cooker sits. We were ably helped by Rebekah who even learnt how to use a staple gun. Its only one strip but it's the most difficult one so glad that's done. It also allows us to be able to put a rather heavy cupboard alongside the cooker. Yesterday we braved Ikea to obtain a few units to go in the temporary kitchen, these will eventually end up in the utility room but will be very useful in the mean time. The cupboards will not actually be spotty as it looks at the moment thats the protective plastic stuff which may remain there until the extension is finished and ends up in the utility room.
