We have hot water!

We were going to be getting a new boiler when we started to move the kitchen into the old dining room. Unfortunately our boiler gradually failed until we ended up with hot water whenever it felt like it and usually not in the mornings. This meant our kettle spent a couple of weeks upstairs to provide hot water whenever needed. Now we have a new boiler making our home warmer and we can have showers whenever we like rather than just when we have hot water!

Chimney breast

The dining room this morning had a chimney breast and by the time I returned from work had lots of bare bricks and the room seemed much larger.

Clearing the room for chimney breast removal

The builders arrive on Monday and so some serious clearing of both the dining room and the back bedroom has been needed. The girls loved the opportunity to do some wrecking. Rebekah couldn't quite remove the plasterboard on her own but with some help from Chris she removed a large portion even though she looked like the lady from the enormous turnip story!

Fixing the floor

To repair the floor in the front room where the radiator pipes had been previously we pinched some floorboards from the dining room, therefore this floor now needed fixing!! Also before the chimney breast could be removed the Welsh dresser had to move from in front of it.
